Courage to give and bear responsibility
Roope Rauhalinna had accumulated a near 10-year work history before he started working at Enfo as a consultant in summer 2014. Roope, who completed his master's degree in economics at the Aalto University School of Business in 2006, worked previously as a controller and CFO at Tietoasema and as a consultant at FCG and EY.
“I had the impression that Enfo was a pioneer in the digitisation of financial administration as I had used Enfo's invoice transmission service while working as a CFO. Enfo’s being a Finnish company also affected my desire to start working here”, Roope says.
In his current position, Roope offers consultation regarding three financial administration processes for Enfo's customers: From Order to Cash, From Procurement to Payment and From Registration to Reporting. The variety of customer companies located in different parts of Finland ranges from small and medium-sized to listed companies.
“The best part about my job is that I can truly help our customers. It's wonderful to see that customers have been able to improve their operations like we proposed, producing concrete benefits.”
Being the father of two small children, Roope especially appreciates Enfo's low hierarchy, trust and flexible working conditions.
“Our actions are not guided from many levels. Instead, the company believes that work can be performed in various ways. Enfo expects that people bring forth their own ideas, develop themselves and give their input to the benefit of the company”, Roope says. “I dare say that management and work organisation here at Enfo are at the highest level I have encountered during my career.”
The master's degree in economics offers truly wonderful and diverse qualifications. Roope believes that education is nothing but a degree and the best work achieved by is learning through doing.
“I'd advise those who have graduated recently not to cling to a specific field on which you have, for example, written your master's thesis, but keep an open mind and look for various jobs”, Roope says in encouragement. “If you are good at something, new things will come your way.”
