Etteplan is growing rapidly and aims for a turnover of 500 million euros in 2024. One of the company’s trusted partners on this growth journey is Enfo, whose expertise Etteplan relies on in many areas. A smooth everyday IT environment, seamless integration of acquisitions, and robust cybersecurity are essential for a growing company.
A global growth company needs a modern IT infrastructure to ensure smooth and reliable everyday operations. In this, Etteplan puts its trust in Enfo. The partnership began in Finland in 2005 and has since expanded to Sweden, Germany, the Netherlands and Denmark. Today, services are provided in three languages – Finnish, Swedish and English. As acquisitions are a key part of Etteplan’s growth strategy, Enfo also provides system integration services and consulting related to mergers and acquisitions.
"Working with a long-term partner is easy. Enfo knows our way of working and our environment – continuity is important in these things,” says Etteplan’s CIO, Marko Mälkiä.
Most of the collaboration focuses on IT infrastructure services: end-user support, and the management and monitoring of workstations, servers and network equipment. Enfo is also responsible for Etteplan’s cybersecurity services, including firewalls, antivirus protection and the security of wireless networks.
Smooth daily IT operations are crucial for a growing company. “Enfo runs our daily IT operations reliably, which means one less thing for us to worry about. Our employees have a phone number they can call whenever they need help. People here are happy with Enfo’s service,” Mälkiä says.

An efficient and flexible service model
Acquiring IT infrastructure as a service has proven to be an excellent solution for Etteplan. The model is efficient and flexible, and the services have evolved over time. It also makes sense cost-wise, as it scales up or down depending on the company’s needs.
“Enfo manages the service more efficiently than we could ourselves. This is their core business, and they provide similar services to many other customers. The service processes work well, and Enfo is able to attract the kind of experts required to deliver the service,” Mälkiä explains.
Expertise is required in many areas. The service model is built on a reliable data centre where Etteplan’s systems are hosted. The Service Desk is staffed with skilled and multilingual professionals, supported by senior specialists.
“Enfo has solid expertise in areas such as server, network and workstation management. They also understand cybersecurity solutions and system integrations. And we can always turn to our service manager for help,” Mälkiä adds.
We rely heavily on Enfo’s expertise in building a modern IT infrastructure environment.

A long partnership is like a marriage – with mutual commitment and a shared rhythm
After 17 years of collaboration, Mälkiä compares the partnership to a marriage: there have been ups and downs along the way, but with commitment from both sides, challenges are always resolved.
“At Etteplan IT, we have a culture of addressing issues quickly before they grow. That way, things get solved as soon as possible. Between Enfo and Etteplan, this has always worked well.”
The cooperation is active and continuously evolving as needs change. “We hold regular development days and aim to identify new areas where Enfo can support us. Their experts often bring us fresh ideas we might not have thought of ourselves,” Mälkiä says.
“I’m pleased that we’ve been part of Etteplan’s growth story since 2005. For this new contract period, we’ve agreed on new priorities – strengthening the continuity and flexibility of IT infrastructure services, and further developing cybersecurity,” says Timo Tuulinen from Enfo.
